IMRMH :10
Chapter :10
“W-what?”
“What is she even talking about?”
As everyone froze at her incomprehensible shout,
*Crash—!*
A jarring noise cut through the air.
*Weee-wooo— Weee-wooo—*
The intruder alarm began to blare like crazy.
“What the fuck? What is this?”
At Daeho’s curse, Yooseong’s eyes snapped open.
The shattered glass window of the main house, and…
“…!”
Kwon Suhyeok, standing tall with a steel baseball bat, looking right at her.
Kwon Suhyeok, who had become her husband just moments ago, was standing right there.
A jet-black three-piece suit, perfectly styled hair, and a black mask.
“I’m here, honey.”
The man, who had rushed over at her call, smiled, his eyes crinkling.
“It’s my first time visiting my in-laws, so I was a bit nervous. I couldn’t control my strength.”
Beyond the living room veranda, where only the window frame remained, about a dozen guards lay slumped helplessly on the ground.
He had taken them down without a single sound.
Wearing fingerless leather gloves and holding the baseball bat, Suhyeok clicked his tongue as he surveyed the trashed living room.
“W-what! Grab him—!”
Daeho’s right-hand man immediately lunged forward, drawing a knife toward Suhyeok.
*Thwack! Clang!*
A bizarre sound that shouldn’t come from a human skull echoed, and the man and his knife went rolling across the floor.
“Hieek!”
Terrified by the brutal sight, Oh Yoona stumbled backward in horror.
Kwon Suhyeok lowered his baseball bat with an indifferent expression.
And then, he instinctively eyed the security team protecting Yooseong.
“You guys. Why don’t you come over here?”
Confusion washed over the faces of the three burly men.
Out of nowhere? Who the hell are you?
Sucheol, who was looking after Seosandaek, stepped in front of her with a wary gaze.
“We don’t even know who you are. Why should we trust—”
“He’s… He’s my husband!”
At Yooseong’s whisper, the men blocking her path turned their heads in sheer disbelief.
“What? Pardon?”
“Miss. Did I hear that right?”
“I know it doesn’t make sense, but he really is my husband. Let’s go over there.”
Stepping ahead of them, she pulled them along instead.
‘What is going on?’
‘No idea.’
Being pulled along easily, they still wore dazed expressions.
Chuckling at Yooseong standing beside him, Suhyeok pointed at Oh Daeho, who was glaring at them.
“Skip the introductions, we don’t have time for that. Just beat that bastard to within an inch of his life first.”
He was pointing at Oh Daeho.
“And take care of any pests trying to get in the way while we’re at it.”
“…Yes, sir.”
Though they had no idea what was happening, the situation was urgent enough that the three men nodded in agreement.
At any rate, their goal of protecting Yooseong seemed to align.
“I’ll count to three. One, two…”
—Three.
The moment Suhyeok’s countdown ended, brutal screams erupted from all sides.
“You motherfuckers—!”
“Fuck, die—!”
A literal brawl broke out inside the house.
“You bastards, get in front of me!”
“Kyaaa! Fuck, get away from me! Get away!!”
Weapons flew, blood splattered, and groans and screams echoed all around.
“Ugh!”
“You— Argh!”
*Thud!* Easily taking down a small fry who lunged at him, Suhyeok casually sat on the armrest of the sofa with an indifferent expression.
Then, he scolded the trembling Yooseong.
“What were you planning to do if I hadn’t come? I almost became a widower before we even started. Huh?”
Though his tone was provocative, she was already used to this way of speaking thanks to Byeongo. Calming her racing heart, she replied nonchalantly.
“…Were you worried about me?”
Caught off guard, he lost his tongue.
“Thank you for coming. I knew you would, Mr. Suhyeok Kwon.”
“Ha. Look at this little thing, playing games with an adult.”
Yooseong beamed and pointed at the blood-stained baseball bat in his hand.
“Give me that.”
“…This?”
Yooseong nodded.
Seeing the desperate look in her eyes, he eventually handed it over with a skeptical face.
Taking the bat, Yooseong began tramping toward the chaotic brawl.
“…Shin Yooseong. Where are you going?”
The kid, clutching the bat handle tightly, walked forward without shedding a single tear.
Her destination was right in front of her uncle, who was on the verge of being beaten.
“Wait a moment.”
The twins were thoroughly taken aback by Yooseong’s sudden intervention.
“Miss, it’s too dangerous! Please step back!”
“Hey, Changmin! Take the lady back!”
Despite their vehement protests, Yooseong walked right up to Daeho and locked eyes with him.
“Y-Yooseong! You didn’t side with that good-for-nothing bastard, did you? Huh?”
“Who knows.”
At her lukewarm response, Daeho squinted his eyes, looking back and forth between Yooseong and Suhyeok.
“Don’t tell me you slept with that guy behind Director Kwon’s back? Did you fall for him after a quick roll in the hay?”
When a dumbfounded Yooseong didn’t answer, Daeho took it as a yes, narrowing his eyes and grinning filthily.
“Since you’re so easy, why didn’t you give some to your uncle?”
In an instant, goosebumps broke out all over Yooseong’s body.
“You motherfucker—!!”
An enraged Yeongmin was about to lunge forward, but Yooseong immediately stopped him.
“Stay back.”
“Miss…!”
Daeho merely cackled with a monstrous look on his face.
He seemed quite relaxed.
“The marriage contract. Where did you get it?”
“Where else? I broke open the safe the moment your father collapsed.”
At his straightforward answer, Yooseong glanced over at Byeongo’s study, which stood wide open in the distance.
The spot where the massive safe—visible even from afar—should have been was now completely empty.
“…Haha.”
Having witnessed the absolute rock bottom of her uncle, Yooseong smiled faintly.
*So this is your true self.*
*Then it’s only fair that I show you mine.*
In an instant, Yooseong’s face hardened.
“Hold him. Make sure he can’t struggle.”
At her command, the twins immediately pinned Oh Daeho down with a firm grip.
“We’re ready, Miss.”
“W-what preparation?! Y-Yooseong. Wait, wait a minute!”
Oh Yoona and her aunt had already fled the house in terror.
Yooseong placed the tip of the baseball bat near Daeho’s temple, sizing it up seriously.
“I’m pretty sure the temple is right around here.”
The spot that would send him flying most effectively.
To find the sweet spot.
“Baby, a little higher.”
Suddenly, a man’s hand gently wrapped around the back of her hand, and his low, deep voice brushed against her ear.
“If you hit him there, he’ll die. That’ll make things annoying for your husband.”
“W-what?! Shin Yooseong! Put that bat away right now!!”
Ignoring Oh Daeho’s frantic thrashing, Yooseong bit her lip and gripped the bat tightly at the adjusted position.
“Yeah, perfect. Right there.”
Just as Yooseong’s eyes flashed with a chilling light, Suhyeok let go of her hand.
“Let go! Let me go, you crazy bastards! Shin Yooseong!”
“You sure talk a lot for someone’s last words.”
*Crack!*
Without a moment’s hesitation, Yooseong swung the bat with precision. Oh Daeho collapsed instantly, unable to even put up a fight.
Glaring down at her fallen uncle, Yooseong gritted her teeth.
“Go to hell, you absolute devil.”
Dropping the bat, she picked up something that had slipped out of Oh Daeho’s pants pocket.
Without hesitation, she headed up to the second floor, toward the bedroom of Oh Daeho and Shin Kyunghee.
The safe hidden deep inside the closet.
*Bam! Bam!*
Yooseong began to bash the safe like a madwoman with the bat.
“Miss…?”
The twins watched with their mouths agape, stunned by this raw, unprecedented side of Yooseong.
Suhyeok also watched quietly, his arms crossed.
After striking it so many times that her palms were raw and blistered, the safe door finally popped open.
Glancing at the glimpse of numerous gold bars and checks inside, Yooseong set down the bat and turned to Suhyeok.
“Pack all of that up for me.”
Perhaps because she had finished her task, all her tension dissolved in an instant.
‘I can’t collapse now…’
Yooseong gritted her teeth, forcing her feet to stay planted on the floor.
“Half of this… is my dowry… Mr. Kwon Suhyeok… you take it…”
*I have to walk out of here on my own feet…*
But her consciousness was already fading, and her eyelids fluttered shut. It was unavoidable.
‘Ah, I’m falling.’
Through her fading awareness, she felt the warmth of someone’s touch on her shoulders and back.
Suhyeok immediately caught Yooseong in his arms.
Looking down at the feisty little thing who had passed out in his arms, Suhyeok threw his head back and burst into laughter. Like a madman.
“Pack everything up. Don’t leave a single thing behind.”
After instructing the security team, he scooped Yooseong up in a bridal carry and walked out.
“Well, this is trouble.”
The moment he saw the kid, trembling with fear, look at him with shining eyes, a rush of thrill had washed over him, making him do things he normally wouldn’t.
Completely spellbound by this little girl.
Staring quietly at Yooseong lying in the back seat, Suhyeok started the engine.
Why did his body move before his mind whenever it came to Shin Yooseong? So impulsively.
This was already the third time.
“Half of this… is my dowry… Mr. Kwon Suhyeok… you take it…”
“Haha!”
Since when was visiting the in-laws this fun?
It seemed he would have to invade the Kwon household as soon as possible.
